Programme

On November 18th, in Brussels, ENSIE is organising an event on "Being a WISE in 2022" with the goal to reflect on what does it mean to be a WISE today, in terms of legislation, funding but also what is the place for WISEs in the just transition.

The event will start with a the presentation of the B-WISE project and its first report which makes a state of the art of WISEs in the EU : what are their legal status, how are they funded, what support do they get,… but also makes a panorama of the skills needs and skills gaps (soft, hard with a focus on digital skills) for all WISEs workers (enablers, managers and workers with support needs). Giulia Galera from EURICSE will do the main presentation and Lieven Bossuyt, from Lichtwerk will present a focus on digital skills. Karel Vanderpoorten, from DG GROW, European Commission will make some comments about the report and its relevance for the Commission.

This session will be followed by the ENSIE WISEs Manager Award Ceremony, presented by Corine Van de Burgt, President of ENSIE and Brigitte Fellahi, Head of Unit at DG EMPL, that will reward three WISEs that are active in the integration of young people in the labour market

The event will continue with food for thought intervention by Gorik Ooms, policy advisor at HERW!N. He will discuss about what is the just transition, is there a place for WISEs in this process and how they can thrive. Her intervention will be followed by a Q&A session with the room moderated by Corine Van de Burgt, President of ENSIE.

Finally, the last part of the event will focus on the Social Platform task force on the Social Economy Action Plan. The task force, led by ENSIE, will present its work on the SEAP and the expected future developments. Brigitte Fellahi, Head of Unit at DG EMPL will also present the Commission point of view on the SEAP.
