The European Semester is a yearly framework to coordinate economic, fiscal, employment and social policy within the European Union. In May/June, the Commission usually published its Spring package which presents the country reports for all Member States. The reports take stock of the countries’ budgetary situation and assess the progress made in implementing previous years’ country-specific recommendations. The country reports include in-depth reviews of macroeconomic imbalances for Member States. Based on these reviews, the Commission may draft country-specific recommendations for the Member States to correct the imbalances that are identified. In July, the Council of the EU adopts the country-specific recommendations, and Member States are invited to implement them.
By joining this session, participants will be able to better understand the importance of the Spring package’s content and what actions to undertake at EU and national levels to try to influence policies for WISEs support.
The webinar takes place in English only.
